Term: CRT (cathode-ray tube)
The familiar heavy glass “picture tube” common to TV displays for over 50 years but now becoming obsolete, replaced by LCD and plasma flat-panel displays as well as DLP and LCD rear-projection and front-projection display. Capable of superb color accuracy and picture detail viewable over a wide angle. Large, heavy, and limited to a maximum of 36 inches diagonal screen size.
