Term: Plasma

A thin-panel video display that uses a huge array of tiny cells filled with ionized gas (plasma) which activates each cell's color phosphor.

Viewable over a wide angle and capable of a brilliant image even in brightly lighted rooms. Has good contrast but tends to use more power than other types of video displays.
